Historical note:
The Klotz family were violin makers in Mittenwald Germany from the mid seventeenth century. Matthias Klotz (1653-1743) was the most famous violin maker and had three sons; Georg I, Sebastian I, Johann Karl.
Georg Carl Klotz 1723-1797 (also known as Georg Klotz II) was the son of Sebastian and was the grandson of Matthias Klotz.
