The Thomastik-Infeld Vision Titanium Orchestra (VIT100o) set is engineered specifically for ensemble and chamber musicians, prioritising a warm, broad tone that blends seamlessly within a section while maintaining pitch stability.
Unlike the piercing brilliance of the Solo version, the Orchestra variant utilises a slightly lighter gauge to facilitate a more complex, gut-like resonance.
The E string features a stainless steel core, often described as titanium-infused or tinned steel, and has a removable Titanal ball end. This construction provides a clear, focused top register that cuts through without becoming shrill.
The A string diverges from the Solo model by using Hydronalium (an aluminum alloy) wound over an advanced synthetic core, yielding a warmer, more rounded mid-range essential for orchestral homogeneity.
The D and G strings both utilise a pure silver winding over the same synthetic core. This heavy silver mass on the lower strings produces a deep, resonant foundation with excellent dynamic control, avoiding the "wolfy" instability common in high-tension sets. Together, these components create a balanced, responsive set that settles quickly and offers the warmth of gut with the reliability of modern synthetic technology.
