Beautiful Antique Violin Bow made in London, England in the famous workshop of WE Hill & Sons.  Stamped WE H&S

64 Grams

Pernambuco wood

Sterling Silver Tip

This fine English violin bow, crafted by the renowned workshop of W.E. Hill & Sons in London (circa 1890s–1920s), bears the distinctive "W.E. H & S" stamp on the octagonal pernambuco stick - a hallmark of their solid workshop production during the firm's golden era. Matching "D" assembly marks on the stick (beneath the frog) and the metal slide of the plain ebony frog confirms authentic Hill pairing practices, ensuring precise fit and balance.

Weighing a well-balanced 64 grams, this example feels responsive and substantial in the hand - ideal for players seeking warmth, projection, and control. The silver tip plate remains unstamped (no individual maker code, typical of many workshop bows from this period). With a fresh sterling silver winding, a new leather thumb grip, and freshly rehaired with white stallion bow hair -  pristine, ready-to-play condition. The mounts gleam with classic Hill elegance, and the overall presentation is immaculate - no cracks, repairs, or wear detract from its superb preservation.

A versatile, high-quality performer from one of England's most respected bow-making houses, this bow offers professional-grade playability and historical charm at an accessible level. Perfect for advancing students, chamber musicians, or collectors appreciating English craftsmanship.
