This cello was made in the Klier workshop located in Bubenreuth, Germany. The Klier family has been making violins since 1887 with Johann Klier who set up his own workshop in Schönbach, Egerland. Johann passed away in 1918 & the workshop was passed to his eldest son, Otto Josef Klier. All instruments & bows are unique & of a very high standard, crafted by skilled makers with naturally aged timber.
This cello has a two piece lightly flamed back made from aged Bosnian maple. The top is made from aged Austrian mountain spruce. Ebony fittings and a Wittner tailpiece with in-built fine tuners.
Overall this instrument has a bright & brilliant sound with very loud and clear projection. This instruments tone is even, clear & focused across both the high & low registers creating a beautiful balance. Fitted with Larsen Soloist strings to add a level of richness & warmth to the overall brilliance of this cellos sound.
